Connecteam, or a tool that only does staff tasks

Connecteam is a full employee management suite: a time clock, a rota, chat, HR paperwork, and tasks in one place. StaffToDo does one job instead. This page sets out what each one covers, taken from Connecteam's own published plans and feature pages, and is plain about what StaffToDo leaves out.

The other tool

What Connecteam actually is

Everything below comes from Connecteam's own pricing and product pages, read on 15 August 2026. No prices are quoted here because theirs change and ours is not the point of the comparison. Check their pricing page for the current numbers.

Three products, bought separately
Connecteam sells an Operations hub, a Communications hub, and an HR and Skills hub. Each one is priced on its own, and each has its own ladder of plans. Tasks sit inside the Operations hub.
Tasks are one feature of many
In the same Operations hub you also get a time clock with location, job scheduling, and forms and checklists. Chat, company updates, a directory, and surveys sit in the Communications hub. Time off, training courses, documents, and hiring sit in the HR hub.
Built for people away from a desk
Their own positioning is non-desk teams: construction, food, cleaning, healthcare, retail, field services.
Priced per hub
Each hub is bought and priced on its own, with its own ladder of plans. The current numbers are on their pricing page.
The bill follows headcount past thirty
Paid plans hold one flat price for the first thirty people in a hub. From the thirty-first person there is a monthly charge for each extra person, in every hub you bought.

The honest part

What Connecteam has that StaffToDo does not

This list is long, and it should be. One tool covers a whole category and the other covers one slice of it. If anything here matters to you, the rest of the page will not change your mind.

A time clock
Clock in and out with location, geofencing, automatic clock out, and payroll integration. StaffToDo does not do any of that today.
Shift scheduling
Rotas, open shifts, repeating shifts, and shareable schedules. StaffToDo does not say who is working, only what needs doing.
Forms and checklists
Structured field reports that staff fill in and submit. StaffToDo has attachments on a task, not a form builder.
HR and training
Time off with balances, courses, quizzes, e-signed documents, an org chart, hiring and onboarding. StaffToDo does none of it.
Built-in chat and a company feed
Their own messaging, so the tool can replace your group chat outright. StaffToDo assumes you keep the chat you already have and move only the jobs out of it.
Security certifications
They publish SOC 2 and ISO 27001, plus single sign-on and two-factor login on their top plan. If your buyer asks for those on paper, that is a real answer and StaffToDo does not have one.

The other way round

When a task-only app suits you better

An all-in-one has a cost that never appears on the invoice, which is the amount your staff have to learn before any of it helps. Sometimes the smaller thing is what gets used.

You only want the tasks fixed
Nothing else in the suite is a problem you have today. A staff task app is one screen, and there is no hub to choose or feature set to learn.
The team is past thirty, or heading there
Beyond thirty people the suite adds a charge for each new hire, in each hub you bought. StaffToDo is priced per workspace, so hiring never changes the bill.
Your staff would rather speak than type
Staff can record a spoken task in over 99 languages and it is written down in English. Malayalam, Arabic, Tagalog, Polish, and the rest all arrive on one English list.
You do not want a rollout
There is no board to design and no hub to pick. A whole company can be set up in about thirty minutes, and it runs in a web browser.

In one line

The choice you are actually making

One suite that runs your whole workforce, or one screen that answers who has each job today and whether it got done. StaffToDo does not do hours, rotas, or HR paperwork today. If jobs get spoken out loud and lost, and you would rather not roll out a platform to fix that, StaffToDo is priced per workspace and your staff can be using it the same afternoon.

Questions

Asked and answered

How is StaffToDo priced compared with Connecteam?
Different shape, not just a different number. Connecteam prices each hub separately, holds one price for the first thirty people, then charges for every person beyond that in every hub you bought. StaffToDo charges ₹599 a month for each workspace in India, £15 elsewhere, with no charge per member of staff and no headcount cap.
Is StaffToDo a good fit for a small shop?
It fits when the broken thing is that jobs get called out and forgotten. One screen shows who has each job today and whether it got done, there is nothing to design or roll out, and the price is per workspace so hiring does not change the bill. Today it does not clock hours or build a rota.
What does Connecteam do that StaffToDo does not?
Time clock with location and payroll integration, shift scheduling, forms and checklists, time off, training courses, e-signed documents, hiring and onboarding, built-in chat and a company feed, and published SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certification. Today StaffToDo does staff tasks and nothing else.
Can I move from Connecteam to StaffToDo without losing my tasks?
There is no automatic import. In practice a small team does not migrate a task list, because open jobs are days old, not years old. You retype what is still live, which is usually a handful of tasks, and start the next day in the new place.
